Designing user experiences with a narrative

👋 Hi there! I'm Candice, a full-stack principal product designer. From start to finish, I work to distill complexity into intuitive workflows and delightful microinteractions.

My main goal is to deliver thoughtful experiences that solve real-world problems. Through data-driven design, I aim to create experiences that tell a meaningful & engaging narrative to my audience.

Some stuff I do

•   UX / product design

•   UI / visual design

•   Interaction design

•   User research

Tools of the trade

•   Figma & Sketch

•   InVision & Zeplin

•   Adobe CC

•   HTML & CSS

A few of my guiding design principles

Design the magic easy button

Listen to the audience and anticipate their needs. Then, aim to design the most effortless, frictionless solution possible to address those needs.

Communicate & collaborate

World-class product isn’t built in a vacuum. Sharing ideas, aligning goals, and ensuring understanding across the team is critical to building and delivering the best solutions.

Take moonshots

Design knows no limits, so don’t be afraid to take a creative moonshot. But be flexible enough to let constraints and negotiations bring the solution back down to earth.

Focus on outcomes, not outputs

Success should be measured by the amount of value that the audience gets out of the solution, not by how many components, pages, or workflows are produced.

Be accountable & own it

The buck stops here. Every team member needs to own and be held accountable for the quality of the solution that gets delivered.

Iterate, validate, repeat

When in doubt, test. And then test again. Be sure to ask plenty of questions along the way, especially ones that start with, “why.”
